Fulbright Program

International educational exchange program

The Fulbright Program is the U.S. Government’s flagship international educational exchange program and makes an immeasurable impact on people-to-people ties. The Fulbright Program in Croatia is a collaborative effort between the U.S. Department of State and the Government of Croatia. Over the past 30 years, more than 300 Croatians participated in Fulbright scholarship programs in the United States, while more than 200 American scholars have participated in the Fulbright Program in Croatia. Fulbright partnerships are vital to expanding bilateral university cooperation; there are currently nearly 50 signed agreements between U.S. universities and Croatian universities to encourage scientific cooperation and exchange between our two countries. Prominent Croatian Fulbright alumni include former President Kolinda Grabar-Kitarovic, former Minister of Foreign Affairs Vesna Pusic, Governor of the Croatian National Bank Boris Vujcic, and Supreme Court Judge Marin Mrcela, among many others.
